Résumé

The 2019 Covid pandemic has changed the interaction of human life in the education sector. The teaching-learning process in higher education uses online communication techniques more, both synchronous and synchronous. Various information technology-based applications are used for students learning to obtain learning resources and to conduct teaching-learning interactions. This is useful, but there are also many problems faced by students. This study aims to explore online communication techniques and the problems that arise in using these techniques. The research object included 80 students of the master's program. The research design used mixing methods, supported by google form as a data collection technique. Descriptive statistics were used for qualitative data analysis. The results showed that widely used online techniques by students were Google Meet, WhatsApp, Google Search, Google Scholar, Zoom Meeting, Sipejar, YouTube, and Scopus.Com. Meanwhile. Problems were related to the use of Zoom Meeting, Sipejar, Google Meet, WhatsApp, Scopus.Com, YouTube, Google Scholar, and Google Search. The source of these problems included network problems, mastery of applications, ease of use, costs, the amount of data, the troubles in the using process, and so on. Based on these problems, effective strategies for using online communication techniques are suggested. © 2023 Author(s).

Résumé

Online learning causes student anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic. Anticipatory guidance is a form of guidance provided for students to anticipate the occurrence of anxiety. However, the problem is that students in Indonesia consider learning assignments to be the cause of anxiety during online learning. This makes the reason that the importance of guidance for students in preventing anxiety so that online learning can be carried out effectively. The purpose of this research is to build an android-based application to anticipate the occurrence of anxiety for students that is easily accessible and understandable. This research method uses Research & Development (R&D). The subjects in this study were material experts, media experts, and students. The data collection tool used is in the form of a validation sheet to obtain an assessment of the validator or experts. The results show that after design validation by the three material experts an average score of 84.8 was very good and the validation of the three media experts obtained an average score of 72.14 in the good category. Based on the ten student opinions regarding anticipatory guidance on anxiety using an Android-based application, the score was very good in terms of appearance, ease of use of the application and material content related to material clarity, and language. Of the ten students' opinions regarding the android-based application, it gave a proper value to be used as anticipatory guidance on student anxiety during online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2022 International Journal of Health Sciences.

Résumé

The purpose of this study was to develop the 'Roomeet' communication tool for supporting the online learning management of teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research design uses research and development. The data collection technique used a questionnaire, while the data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and qualitative data analysis, with steps of data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results showed that the 'Roomeet' communication tool has been successfully developed in the form of video conferencing tools with superior features, namely automatic presence. In addition, the 'Roomeet' communication tool is effective to support the online learning management of teachers, especially in administrating the presence and absence of students. Based on the findings, it is better to use the tool in the administration of the classroom. © 2021 IEEE.

Résumé

This study aims to determine the use of online learning media in the learning management system in improving student performance during online learning. During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning is carried out fully online. The selection of appropriate learning media and strategies will greatly affect the quality of learning and student performance. This research method uses experimental and quantitative descriptive methods. The sample in this study consisted of 32 samples of the experimental class and 32 samples of the control class. From the results of this study, data was obtained that online learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic was carried out through LMS SIPEJAR, WhatsApp, Google meet, Zoom Cloud Meeting, Email, and Google Classroom. The use of LMS SIPEJAR ranks first as the LMS most frequently used with a percentage of 95%. Meanwhile, the effect of using learning media in SIPEJAR as an LMS on improving performance is seen from two aspects, namely student activity and student learning outcomes. © 2021 IEEE.

Résumé

Many universities develop application systems to support an effective teaching-learning process. One of the application systems developed is “Sipejar” (learning information system). Due to the pandemic of Covid 19, the process of learning and teaching is mostly done online, so that the use of the Sipejar is increasingly being carried out. However, until now, how to use the application system, has not been studied deeply. What variables affect the intensity of using the application is still a question. Therefore, it is needed to study this problem. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of “Sipejar” in online instruction, and to test the effect of the gender, study year, and department on the intensity of use of the Sipejar Application. The research was conducted at the State University of Malang using a survey research design. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a sample of 82 students taken through random sampling. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, and qualitative data analysis techniques. The results indicated that students used various “Sipejar” techniques in online learning. There is no significant difference in the frequency of using "Sipejar" by gender, but there is a significant difference in terms of study years, and department. © 2021 IEEE

Résumé

The process of teaching-learning at all education levels, including at universities has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The lecturing process tends to be conducted online. Many application programs are utilized, including Zoom Meetings and Google Meet. The use of these two application systems brings great benefits, but on the other hand, it also caused problems are faced by the students. Therefore, this study aimed at exploring and comparing the utilization of these two applications, along with the problems they arose, and solution strategies for solving them in the lecturing process. This study employs survey research. A total of 82 students were taken as a sample. A random sampling technique was used for taking them. In collecting data, questionnaires and documentation were used. To analyze the data used t-Test, analysis of variance, descriptive statistical analysis, and qualitative analysis. The results showed that the students used Google Meet and Zoom Meetings a lot in the learning process. There are significant differences in the utilization of Google Meet and Zoom Meetings in the learning process. They use it a lot to take part in lecturing activities, doing assignments, conducting discussions, finding sources of the material, providing feedback, and carrying out learning and teaching evaluations. The most problems faced by the students are signal problems and internet quotas. The solution strategies used to solve the problems are increasing internet capacity, improving ICT mastery, communicating with lecturers and university leaders. © 2021 IEEE.

Résumé

The pandemic of Covid 19 has changed people's lives in all sectors, including the education sector. To meet the Health protocol, the learning process cannot be done face-to-face, but it is mostly done online. The science education study program is the fastest study program that is obliged to produce prospective teachers and educational staff who will carry out educational and learning tasks in schools. For this reason, the learning process in these study programs should be a pioneer in implementing information technology-based learning processes. However, until now there has not been much research done in this regard. Therefore, this research aimed at exploring the implementation of the learning process in online learning-based educational study programs. The research sample was taken by 83 respondents who were taken from seven study programs randomly. Collecting data in this research applies a questionnaire and it is analyzed using descriptive statistics and analysis of variance. The results showed that lecturers in study programs used online communication media, with the highest frequency is WhatsApp, and then Email, Sipejar-Assignment, Google Meet, Google Classroom, Zoom, and Quizizz. While the lowest used are BigBlue Button, Schoology, Team Viewer, Kahoot, and Nearpod. There are variations in use that differ from one study program to another. © 2021 IEEE.

However, how effective online communication is, has not been known. Therefore, this study aims to describe the communication techniques applied by the teacher and compare the effectiveness of online and offline techniques in interactions with students. This research was conducted in Batu City, with samples of 57 elementary school teachers who were taken using the cluster random sampling technique. The data collection technique used a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and Analysis of variance. The results showed that offline communication techniques were considered more effective than online communication techniques. There is no difference in the effectiveness of communication techniques in terms of gender, education level, rank, and teacher work duration. There are differences in the frequency of using techniques in terms of education level and teacher work duration.
